Our product and design team worked on a redesign of the job posting journey with the aim of improving efficiency and user-friendliness for employers. This project was intended to identify any usability issues in the current version and understand which features would be most beneficial for the next update.
Due to the diverse needs of numerous partners, the page became overloaded with information. Users are faced with an abundance of content to digest, some of which may be unnecessary for certain groups. Additionally, Hotjar heatmap analytics indicate that users are struggling to complete tasks within a short timeframe.
We required showcasing customized content tailored for each partners, which led to an abundance of content variations. Designing a solution that strikes a balance between being generic enough to accommodate all those variations while keeping eye-catching design was challenging. In addition to redesigning current flows, we were tasked with incorporating the ability to upsell certain products during the process.
The participants ranged from end users to power users, highlighting the need to understand the distinctions between these roles as they impact design. A common feedback was that the content was overwhelming, validating the issue we needed to address.
We focused on providing users with only the essential information needed to complete their tasks. This approach included using clear and concise labels, simple language, and limiting the number of available options.
For example, instead of repeatedly presenting the same information in package explanations, we used concise phrases like "same as XX with the addition of YY." We also implemented tooltips to describe aggregators, avoiding excessive detail and preventing page clutter.
In multiple instances, we used contrasting colors to ensure that important information stood out. We also enhanced the primary call-to-action button to improve usability. During the design process, our primary focus was on selecting a versatile color that would complement any layout variations.
